Musings

* my foot is sore! i don't know if i strained it, sprained it or what. but it just aches under the arch all the way to my big toe. not fun when you're hauling laundry baskets around. speaking of which. i used to jam a HUGE amount of laundry into each load when the kids were smaller. could do a lot of wash but then the folding was more tedious with all the teeny shirts/pants/socks. but now the clothes are bigger and it takes more loads!

* yesterday we had 20 total here for dinner. a great time. and lots of teenagers which i'm so immesely impressed with. they are kind. engaging. fun. polite. and boy can they eat! and i mean that in a nice way. the mom said she shops at sam's a lot. she'd have to! and she has some very nice kids to show for it.

* the wood stove sure is cranking some btu's these days. to the point that duane was reading the paper in the bedroom to stay cool!

* trevor is going as a hunter at halloween. but he wants to carry a gun. um. i am not sure that's a good idea son. trick or treat! this is a hold-up. he's desperate to get to gander mountain to pick it out. oh boy. i told him when i tucked him in that dad can handle that question.

* mira came home hopping mad off the bus. the crabby, skinny, older lady bus driver is now assigning seats and she has to sit with the twin boys that live nearby. she's horrified that is how she has to get to school now. i actually think they are cute little guys. but maybe they are rascals once the bus starts rolling. i dunno.

* i'm still a baby at it, but discovering facebook. i still don't know much about it, but it was fascinating seeing the pictures pop up of people i went to h.s. and college with. really, if you were looking for someone... bam! there they are! but it is a scary time waster. and i don't want to get very 'good' at it. it wouldn't be good for me or my family.

* we got a new computer monitor and it is icky. not clear enough. so back it goes to the store.

* i bought the game of life today. was cheap at fleet farm. i played it daily after school when i was about 10 or 11 with a neighbor girl lisa. we changed the rules and both automatically became doctors. that way it went faster and seemed somehow more 'fair'. i played it with rayna tonight and she loved it. good practicing with making change and playing banker. but it's kinda weird though. you end life by going to millionaire acres. no death and dying in life when it comes out of a box!

* i can't wait for the election to be over. i have a deep conviction which way my vote should go. and mr. chairman does too. and luckily it jives. but... our anniversary (#14!) is the day after the election. either he'll be happy, or not so happy. at least he's still happy with me! and i him...

i think this is enough musing. i'm mused out. and i'm sure it isn't amusing to you either...

  1. I too am going to be gloriously happy when the election is over! I am SO tired of hearing about it! Not only on the news and phone calls and such but from the wonderful well informed husband of mine!
